Many young people dream of becoming the next pop idol and think that if they learn to play an instrument they will become an overnight success. Unfortunately, this is not the case and for anybody hoping to be successful they need lots of practise. As music played loudly can be very annoying to both family and neighbours, many promising musicians have found that by making use of a pre-fab concrete garage (Beton Fertiggarage) they can practise as much as they like without troubling anybody. Often young people get together to form a rock group and are inspired by such groups as Take That and the Beatles who started their careers by singing and playing their instruments in each others bedrooms. Getting to the top and becoming well known certainly isn’t easy and many groups on their road to success will perform at venues such as Working Mens Clubs, Nightclubs and Pubs. Talent shows such as The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent have also helped newcomers on their road to stardom. Even if someone doesn’t actually win the competition, it is very likely they will be recognized for their talent and get offers to perform at various functions.
Practising is essential for anyone to achieve their very best and whether it is singing solo, taking part in a group or learning how to play a new instrument, prefabricated garages (Fertiggaragen) are ideal for this purpose. Groups come and go in the music business and today’s pop groups and pop idols will often be forgotten in a year or so. However, some groups never go away and the Rolling Stones that have been at the top since the 60’s are still going strong. All the group members are over 60 years old but their concerts still attract huge crowds where ever they go and are a sell out. Other stars such as Rod Stewart, Cliff Richard and Tom Jones are still performing and have a huge following of fans. All these people started by practising at home and performing at cinemas and clubs on their way to the top. For most young people however becoming a pop idol remains just a dream and they end up doing something else which isn’t quite as exciting. Some people might have a tremendous talent that is never recognized and may be too shy to push them selves forward. Paul Potts who won the Britain’s Got Talent competition two years ago is a typical example. Working as a mobile phone salesman who ever would have thought he would enjoy the fame he so rightly deserves. When he first appeared on our screens so shy and nervous and started singing he brought tears too many people’s eyes and became an overnight success. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen very often but people love it when it does.
